Clinical Research

The MNIT is very active in the field of clinical research and has historically performed over 150 clinical trials. We are currently involved in 9 trials, a figure that is set to increase in the near future.

The MNIT research program looks at a number of different aspects of transplantation, from the patients themselves to the pharmaceutical agents used to treat them. The MNIT is regularly invited to test new drugs that are being investigated for future approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

MNIT Clinical Research Department partners with large multinational pharmaceutical companies to explore new approaches and medicines that may improve the lives of transplanted patients. Only by painstaking investigation can we hope to improve patient and graft survival in the future.

An MNIT/USC Transplant Research Consortium was created to facilitate both clinical and research collaborations between MNIT and USC full-time faculty and staff.
