At the root of MNIT's Mentor Program are volunteer transplant recipients and living donors who act as Mentors to patients on the national transplant waiting list or those considering living donation. Mentors are specially trained to provide support and education on an individual basis and mentor through the first year post-transplant or post-donation.
This program, supported by a grant from The Lincy Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization, aims to educate patients about taking active care of their health, which fosters successful transplantation and continued health after transplant.
