MNIT offers a complete package of benefits for its employees. 

Eligible Employees

NIT makes the following Employee Benefit Programs available to all Eligible Employees.

An Eligible Employee is any Salaried Exempt or Regular Full Time Employee as defined in the Employee Manual.

 

Health Plan Benefits

NIT offers an HMO & PPO medical plan from PacifiCare.

Medical Coverage Waiver

NIT provides a Medical Coverage Waiver Credit for any Eligible Employee who has other medical coverage (for example, if employee is a dependent on a Spouse’s or Domestic Partner’s Medical Plan) and waives NIT’s Medical Coverage, provided the Eligible Employee provides proof of other medical coverage. Any Eligible Employee who waives NIT’s Medical Coverage will receive a $200 monthly credit, paid on the first payroll of each month.

 Any Eligible Employee waiving NIT’s Medical Coverage is eligible for NIT’s Dental and Vision Plan as well as the Life, AD&D and LTD coverage at no cost to the Eligible Employee.

MetLife Dental Plan

NIT employee dental coverage is provided through MetLife. NIT provides the premium Dental plan MetLife offers.  It is the option designated as “Dental” on the application. Please refer to the attached Schedule of Benefits for a detailed description of the MetLife Dental plan.

V.S.P – Eye Care Coverage

NIT provides eye care coverage through VSP. Please refer to the VSP information sheet included in your benefits package for more information about vision coverage.

Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Long Term Disability Coverage

NIT provides Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) and Long Term Disability (LTD) coverage to all Eligible Employees at no cost to the employee. Coverage is currently provided by MetLife. Benefits are paid after all other available coverage (State Disability, Social Security Disability, etc.) and is summarized below:

Paid Time Off

Paid Time Off (PTO) is an all purpose time off policy for eligible employees to use for vacation, illness or injury, and personal business. It combines traditional vacation and sick leave plans into one flexible, paid time-off policy. Please refer to the NIT Employee Manual for specific details.

Employee Contributions to Health Care Benefit Package:

Employee contributions to the NIT Health Care Benefit Program for the Plan Year June 1, 2008 through May 31, 2009 follows (subject to change at any time by NIT).

 

VOLUNTARY PROGRAMS FOR EMPLOYEES
The following Group Policies are administered by NIT, are voluntary, and are funded by the Employee

403(b) – Retirement Savings Plan

Please refer to the attached Ceridian Retirement Plan and Enrollment Package for a detailed description of this NIT benefit. Please refer to the NIT Employee Manual for specific details.

Flexible Spending Account – FSA

NIT offers two plans through ADP for enrollment into a Flexible Spending Account, the Dependant Care Plan and the Health Care Expense Plan. By contributing a portion of your payroll dollars into your account(s) on a pre-tax basis, you can save 20% to 40% on the cost(s) of eligible dependant care and health care expenses.

Pre-Paid Legal

NIT offers two plans through Pre-Paid Legal for you and your family; the Life Events Legal Plan and the Identity Theft Shield Plan.

Aflac

In case of an accident or illness, NIT offers its employees 5 Aflac insurance policies to pay cash benefits directly to our employees, unless assigned, regardless of any other insurance our employees may have.

E-Central Credit Union

NIT offers its employees the opportunity to receive superior financial services for all of their financial needs through E-Central Credit Union. Please refer to the E-Central brochure and application for further details.
